Topic 103: When / While 不應死記

教學生 when / while,不能一味靠死記何時用 simple past tense 或何時用 past continuous tense ,而是應該讓學生明白背後的意思。

When / While 用於連繋兩個動作或兩件事情:

I was doing homework (長動作,用 was /were -ing,因為做功課不會只做一分鐘,一定是一段時間) when someone knocked on the door. (短動作,用 simple past tense,因為敲門只需用很少時間)

I was doing homework while my brother was watching TV. (兩邊都是長動作,用 was /were -ing,因為做功課和看電視不會只做一分鐘,一定是一段時間)
