Topic 47: Yes/No questions vs Wh- questions

Ron: I like playing the piano.
Jason 的問題應該是下列哪一個？
A. Do you like playing the piano?
B. What do you like doing?
答案是：B
因為如果是 A 的話，答案一定要加上 ‘Yes/No’，變成： ‘Yes, I like playing the piano.’ (長答）/ ‘Yes, I do.’ (短答）

Topic 42: Comparatives and Superlatives
「甚麼時候加 -er，甚麼時候加 more?」這是不少同學們的問題。
一般來說，如形容詞帶有後綴詞（suffixes)（例如-ous, -ful, -able/-ible 等等）或有三個或以上音節（syllables)，我們會用 ‘more’ 或 ‘the most’。例：
helpful, more helpful, the most helpful
humorous , more humorous, the most humorous
difficult, more difficult, the most difficult
至於兩個音節則有些生字會用 ‘-er/-est’，有些會用 ‘more/the most’，要靠多閱讀多用多記才行。例：
clever, cleverer, the cleverest
simple, simpler, the simplest
modern, more modern, the most modern
loyal, more loyal, the most loyal

以下哪一句不正確？
1. The closing ceremony of the 2016 Summer Olympics was held on the 21st August.
2. The closing ceremony of the 2016 Summer Olympics was held on 21st August.
3. The closing ceremony of the 2016 Summer Olympics was held on the twenty-first of August.
以上句子，我們應讀成第3句，而寫法則應寫成第2句 (21st August / 21 August) 或第3句 (the twenty- first of August)。
至於第1句 (the 21st August)，無論讀和寫都是不正確的。
