簡單來說，能站立在上面的交通工具用 ‘on’ ，不可的用 ‘in’，至於 ‘at’ 就常用於車站。由此推説， ‘cable car’ 是 ‘on the cable car’ ， ‘airport’ 便是 ‘at the airport’ 了。
